November Known as No Shave November these days, it's also the month we start hearing Christmas music and drink out of red Starbucks cups, give thanks, eat too much turkey, and go shopping at midnight (but not at REI this year). As I pore over the powerful words of an outlier we recently interviewed for the upcoming book Outliers in Medicine, I get a bit misty eyed thinking that he recently passed, and all that he accomplished in his lifetime. Veteran’s Day: A Day of Honor
Today is Veteran’s Day. Today is a day dedicated to honoring those who have served in the armed forces and fought to protect our country. And, as you might have guessed it, each one of these veterans is an outlier in their own way. Although each one has that something special that makes them extraordinary, one story especially stood out to me.
